dumblonde Are Charlie Chaplin’ all Up In Here // iHeartRadio Music Awards

This is Shannon Bex and Audrey O’Day, who used to be members of the band Danity Kane until they broke up just recently. They stepped out as their new duo act called “dumblonde” (non-capitalisation is part of the name) for the first time at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday, which is also the day they announced their new musical project on social media. That’s just a little background for ya, cause I know I didn’t know any of that until I researched it.
As I’ve said before, I love a woman in a suit, and these suits are no exception. Nicely tailored, nice fit, it looks good on these gals for sure. Also love the choker/cleave necklaces, they look really effective with the open blazer. Also if I could have this hair colour without it jeopardising my search for a job in the corporate realm, I totally would.
That said, there’s just something about this look that doesn’t sit right with me. I wouldn’t have chosen to wear exactly the same thing, nor hold hands as a sign of unity and strength in every damn photo I can find of them, but I don’t think it’s that.
It’s their faces. And I don’t mean that in a “DAMN GURL U UGLY” kind of way, cause clearly they aren’t, I think it’s just that their makeup is like super underwhelming.
It’s like their makeup artist was like “how can I make their faces stand out as LESS as I possibly can” (yes that was an awfully constructed sentence, forgive me.) It really just looks like LOTS of foundation and eyeliner and that’s it. I understand wanting to go with a simple makeup look to compliment the simplicity of their outfits but it really isn’t doing them any favours. A red lip, or some blush or even some more substantial bronzer could really lift it a lot, cause it’s looking extremely dull at the moment.

Beauty guru’s, what do you suggest to breathe some life into their faces?!
